At first glance, it was Rachel’s smile that caught John’s attention. Even though he normally wouldn’t have said anything without first knowing for sure that she liked him, he decided to introduce himself and get to know Rachel. He was glad he did. As they talked, they found out how much they both appreciated family. They found themselves as best friends in short order and then dated for 7 years. Julia, Rachel’s sister and maid of honor, said it well in her toast, “I couldn’t have imaged her (Rachel) marrying anybody else. …We have felt that you (John) have been apart of our family for a long time, but now it’s official and we could not be happier.” #johnandrachie

Mary & Mark’s day was gorgeous. Their Cinderella theme came off beautifully through Mary’s lovely wedding gown, the wedding colors, the invitations, the favors, and especially the cake. From getting ready at the Arizona Grand, to the ceremony at Mark’s alma mater Brophy Chapel, and then the reception at Secret Garden Event Center, the flow of the wedding was a display of their relationship and genuine love.

Jen & Dan have an incredible redemptive story to their marriage. They’ve been together for years and have some beautiful children. After some biblical counseling, Jen & Dan decided for themselves that they needed to get married. We had the honor of being a part of telling their love story and their continued decision to follow Christ with their lives.

Tara and Andy have already been married for 5 years, so they wanted to have their ceremony and party done right. They chose Val Vista Lakes in Gilbert, AZ, to host their celebration. The best word to describe their day was simply “fun.” Tara boldly chose an AMAZING red dress and pulled it off with her attitude and style which was complimented by her father’s surprise top hat, white gloves, union jack socks and cane. Ceremony backdrop was Val Vista Lakes’ signature waterfall. Andy couldn’t have been more smitten with his bride and it showed in all of their couple’s portraits. One could even say that he was in “deep smit.” Their marriage is a fusion of Andy’s Brit and Tara’s American. They took our suggestion to make the Finney Fusion not only their signature drink but also their wedding hashtag. #finneyfusion They partied well into the night with their awesome friends and family with a great mix of music which heavily favored The Beatles.

Tamara+Kyle are an incredibly fun couple. From their love of basketball and football, to their incredible sense of humor, they make a great match. When Kyle proposed, it really didn’t hit Tamara. She said “fo sho!”, but the weight of it didn’t land on her until dinner that night when she started freaking out that she was really engaged. They had already been together for 7 or 8 years, so they were sure this was the perfect next step for them. Phoenix was the place Tamara would vacation with her family when she grew up. It seemed appropriate that they would make it the destination for their wedding because of their connection to the area and family, as well as the awesome weather during December. The Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort was part of those vacations, and became the site of the intimate celebration of their commitment to each other. Trevor moved to Cali to do his own thing, and saw Sarah’s online profile the same week. Sarah & Trevor almost didn’t meet for their first date. Terrible LA gridlock made it almost impossible for Sarah to make it, and even though she was an hour and a half late, Trevor waited, and once together, they didn’t want it to end: the date lasted for 6-7 hours. Their love can’t be summed up in words: they both believe that actions show their love best. It was a pleasure serving them for both photography and cinematography on their big day at Ahwatukee Foothills Golf Club.

When I first met Mary & Mark at an open house at The Secret Garden, what made them so memorable was the proposal. We got to visit together and learn more about their story and share ours, and it was a good fit. We did Mary & Mark’s engagement session at Alcantara Vineyards in Cottonwood. Such fun walking around the property, chatting, laughing, getting their love and emotion in their poses. Such a beautiful day. Another beautiful day, we got to be a part of their wedding. From the Arizona Grand where they got ready, to Brophy Chapel where they had their ceremony, and finally to The Secret Garden where they partied the night away in celebration of their marriage, we had the honor to be there and capture it in photo and video. “Ghost” and “Ashe” by Songs of Water

Scottsdale Wedding Videographer: Life’s Story Studios presents a VAVL2 film: Rossa+Rami, a boutique wedding film.

Rossa & Rami met through a friend of Rami’s who lived in Louisiana and Rossa’s cousin who was attending LSU for pre-med. They started Skyping and Facetiming right away. They began to meet up twice a month as they were several states away. The first time they met face to face, Rami sat with Rossa at a table under a tree and he just knew this was the woman he was looking for. Rami proposed to Rossa in Tucson on a golf course. Rossa was deeply moved, but told him to hurry up because everyone was watching. That fits the two of them so well:: Rami is overt and vocal, and Rossa is reserved and calm. They both love those qualities about each other. We had the honor to do both photography and cinematography for their wedding day through the Gainey Vendor Experience at Gainey Ranch Golf Club.

I’ve known Shane since he was in 7th grade. I had the honor to be his discipleship group leader at church from then until he entered college. From watching this young man grow, mature, desire to honor the Lord and others, to him now getting married to the wonderful Meg: it has all been a pleasure. This was a true honor. With our full-day coverage, we were able to be there for all of those special moments throughout their day. We helped them plan the flow of their day ahead of time, and then helped to keep the flow going and their day as stress-free as possible. The first look was incredible: when Shane teared up as Meg tapped him on the shoulder and they got to see each other for the first time on their wedding day, I was deeply moved and very proud.

Bry & Zach got to know each other because Bry was friends with Zach’s sister. Zach was the first to take Bry out on a real date. They went to the Rain Forest Café, then to see the Muppets in theatre, and he gave her a large panda. One day, up near Potato Lake (past Strawberry), Bry & Zach were camping. After she cleaned up the camp area, Zach suggested they take a photo in front of the pop-up trailer. She thought he had set the camera on a timer so that he could get in the picture, too, but instead he had turned on the video function. To her surprise, he got down on his knee and proposed to her. The diamond in the ring was Zach’s great great aunt’s. It was a pleasure serving Bry & Zach.

When I first met Mary & Mark at an open house at The Secret Garden, what made them so memorable was the proposal story.  Mark was on a work trip to Hawaii, and he had Mary come out and join him.  He had it all set up that he would take her to swim with dolphins.  A dolphin carried a foam box to her with the excuse that they were training the dolphin to deliver medical supplies, but inside was the ring.  Mark had hired a photographer to “take pictures of them swimming with the dolphins,” so they were there to capture the surprise proposal.  It caught Mary completely off guard!  She said yes, and now the rest is history.  Congratulations, Mary & Mark!

Lauren & David’s first date was sushi on May 5th, 2012. David proposed to Lauren while on a pink jeep tour to merry-go-round rock overlooking Sedona even though he hates heights on May 23rd, 2014. Their wedding day was chosen to keep the May theme moving on May 1st, 2015. Their vows, performed at The Secret Garden Event Center in Phoenix, tell a wonderful story of their love for each other and their resolve to be together for the rest of their lives.

scottsdale wedding photographers | rossa+rami

This beautiful couple met through a mutual friend in Louisiana where Rami was in his residency and Rossa in doctoral study.  They hit it off and visited a Syrian festival in Houston together.  Their love was providentially brought together and they continued their engagement even while many states away as Rami moved here to Phoenix and Rossa did her residency in Nebraska.  Their wedding day came, and what a day it was!  From Rami getting ready at his house in Glendale, Rossa getting ready at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale, their ceremony being held at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, more pictures and video done back at the Hyatt, and their reception at Gainey Ranch Golf Club, it was a very full day for this great couple.  It was also the first day of the Monsoon season in Arizona, and the first big dust wall, also known as a Haboob, came through just before their reception at Gainey Ranch Golf Club.  Rossa braved a good bit of wind in order for us to get some great photos and video of the two of them near sunset out on the golf course at Gainey.  Oh, my, do their family and friends know how to party! From more traditional dances from Syria, dabke, where all the family and friends danced as a group, to American party anthems: they danced all night long!  They even finished the evening with a very talented friend who brought his keyboard/synth and played Syrian-style songs to which many guests danced and sang.  They are definitely worth celebrating!
